Perry was born in Greymouth and loves working in a kaupapa Māori organisation and with computers ( hardware and software ) and ngā tangata ( computer training ) He has worked in many roles: as the current IT lead, a computer systems engineer, a community support worker, office administrator, youth suicide prevention manager, nutrition and physical activity administrator, survey design statistician, computer programming and self-employment His interests include New Zealand politics and his work with the Christchurch Collective for the Homeless Perry was a Microsoft Certified Professional, has a Post-Graduate Diploma in Public Health and a Bachelor of Arts ( Māori ) His whakapapa is Ngā Ruahine, Te Atiawa, Ngāti Ruanui, Taranaki katoa
