Sammy grew up on the Waitaki and spent most of her life living with her intergenerational whānau. Her background is in education and on the marae. She has a bachelor’s degree in teaching and learning (early childhood education) and a graduate diploma (primary). She enjoys spending time with friends and whānau at the beach or awa, camping and renovating her whare. Sammy enjoys problem solving and finding efficient ways of doing things. As part of her role, she is creating efficient systems to support our kaimahi so they can spend more time with client whānau. Her evaluation mahi involves capturing evidence of the positive impact of kaupapa Māori services for whānau. An experienced collaborative leader, Sammy is passionate about building whanaungatanga and supporting others to collaborate.
