Whānau Ora is a holistic and innovative approach to enhancing whānau wellbeing, placing whānau at the heart of decision-making. It recognises the collective strength of the whānau unit, addressing individual needs within the broader whānau context. Through this approach, whānau are empowered to define their aspirations, take steps to improve their lives, and build the capability to achieve their goals.
Our Whānau Ora Navigators provide tailored support to whānau by co-developing personalised plans that reflect whānau aspirations. Our service is geographically based, guiding whānau from states of distress toward improved wellbeing. Navigators wrap the necessary supports around whānau experiencing complex barriers by coordinating access to essential services, enabling them to make meaningful progress toward their goals. This approach leads to better outcomes in areas such as mental health, hauora, education, housing, living standards, and cultural identity.
