Bringing in-office vaccination to Ōtautahi

Te Puawaitanga’s Rapuora Team went to vaccinate kaimahi at Te Puni Kōkiri at their request. The team there had been looking for a kaupapa Māori organisation to come in to deliver the service in the convenience of their tari/ office.

Te Puawaitanga staff delivered covid and flu vaccinations, and for two of the people, it was the first time they opted for a flu vaccine. While the national office has offered in tari vaccinations in previous years, this was the first time in 20 years that this service was delivered for kaimahi in Ōtautahi.

“Some kaimahi had their flu vaccine for the first time,” said Ben Masara, Registered Nurse. “It was nice to see people stepping up to do the right thing for them and their whānau.”

The team is planning a follow up visit to vaccinate additional kaimahi in about a month.
