Te Puawaitanga ki Ōtautahi Trust, a kaupapa Māori community trust, is pleased to welcome Geoff Milner, Ngāti Porou, Ngāti Kahungunu ki te Wairoa, into the newly established role of Chief Executive.
“Geoff has left a rich, bountiful harvest for whānau in the North Island,” said Karen Coutts, Chairperson, Board of Trustees. “At this time of Matariki, we will start the new year with the skills and capabilities that will lead to new harvests for our whānau in Ōtautahi.”
Milner is a highly respected and impactful leader who most recently led Ngāti Hine Health Trust where he achieved significant growth in the range and capacity of service delivery for whānau. A Chartered Accountant, Milner has previously worked in senior management positions across a range of organisations (including Ngāti Porou East Coast Rugby, NZ Wool Board and Tairawhiti District Health Board) and in Chair; Deputy Chair roles across various Boards (currently the Board Chair Mahitahi Hauora Primary Healthcare Organisation in Northland and formerly Deputy Chair Tairawhiti District Health Board).
As Chief Executive of Te Puawaitanga ki Ōtautahi Trust, Milner will bring his skills and experience to support the hauora / wellbeing of whānau as part of the legacy and expectations of its founder, the late Dame Aroha Reriti-Crofts.
Milner has and holds governance roles in health, community services and iwi sectors. He holds a Master of Business Administration (with distinction) from Massey University. Milner will be formally welcomed with a Mihi Whakatau and will commence work on 22 July 2024.
