Cathy has a Bachelor of Arts in Education and a graduate diploma in professional supervision in bicultural practice. For a decade, she has been a Te Tiriti educator.

She is passionate about improving childhoods – as what happens in childhood can impact on the rest of our lives. She loves gardening, birdlife, bugs and in particular, beetles.

For the past 40 years, she has lived in New Brighton as she loves the natural environment and village pace of life. She loves music and instruments. She’s spent most of her adult life raising children and being a part of community organisations, then working in organisations focused on social justice.

You’ll find a ukulele in her car and will bring it to whānau holidays, plays piano and has memories of listening to Louis Armstrong on the vinyl.
