Ko te Ūpoko o Tahu Mataa te maunga Ko Ōkana te awa Ko Uruao te waka Ko Wairewa te marae Ko Ngāti Irakehu te hapū Ko Ngāi Tahu te iwi Dani Panirau was born in Ōtautahi. Dani is currently an active member of and works within the Wairewa Rūnanga governance space to support the growth of whānau, hapū, and iwi Māori. As a kid who grew up on the marae, whānau are the most important part of her world view, with development of reo Māori within the home a priority. Dani has a strong passion for supporting iwi Māori with education, at all levels, having previously worked at Te Whare Wānaka o Aoraki, Lincoln University, supporting tauira Māori to achieve their tohu.
