Elaine has returned home to Ōtautahi after 40 years of living in Auckland and Kerikeri. A lifelong monarchist, she joined the Royal New Zealand Navy in July 1982.

Working in various roles from recruitment, communications, publications, and data analysis, she moved to Kerikeri, Northland in 2009 where she worked at Te Runanga a Iwi Ongapuhi.

For eight years, Elaine worked for a primary health organisation in Northland in various roles, including: office manager, HR, recruitment and placement for locum general practitioners and registered nurse organisations, and facilitating workforce education for all primary care clinical and non-clinical staff, amongst other things. While wearing these many hats, she also ran her much loved Ipipipiri Lodge, a bed and breakfast.

Elaine values transparency and honesty, values which have seen her keep many friendships alive throughout her life. A creative person, she enjoys crafting her own beautiful cards, gardening, reading, op-shopping, baking delectable treats and fancies herself a wine connoisseur.
