She moved to Ōtautahi in 2015 where she lives with her tane and two young tamariki. Jennifer earned her Bachelor of Arts at Queen’s University, Kingston, Canada. She also has a post-graduate certificate in corporate communications from Seneca College and a professional certificate in public sector and non-profit marketing from the Sprott School of Business at Carleton University. She has other qualifications in social marketing, public speaking, leadership and te reo Māori Language level 2. In 2008, she completed a master’s degree in professional communications at Western Sydney University, Australia. It was while she was living in Sydney that she met her Kiwi tane. She has also completed several post-graduate certificates in public and non-profit communications. In Canada, Jennifer worked as a public servant for the Ontario Ministry of Health as a senior communications advisor in health system quality and public health. Prior to joining the Trust, Jennifer lead the Communications and Marketing Team at SAFE for Animals, a non-profit organisation that advocates on behalf of animals. Jennifer enjoys traveling, learning languages, watching films, and reading. She has always had an inquisitive nature, is passionate about social justice and advocating for new structures and systems to create equity.
