The Pegasus Partner Award recognises the important mahi of a partner organisation. Kaimahi were on site on 15 Hakihea / December to accept the award.

Here is the kōrero that was shared during the award ceremony

Te Puawaitanga ki Ōtautahi trust are a kaupapa Māori provider with a range of whānau services. They work to support Māori and their whānau with wrap around support in health, education and social services across the different stages of life. Throughout the COVID-19 response the rapuora team at Te Puawaitanga ki Ōtautahi Trust collaborated to provide a whānau centric service for whānau as they navigated the pandemic. This included collaborating with Tangata Atumotu and Life Pharmacy Hornby to open and service a vaccination hub in Hornby with a specific focus on providing a safe and welcoming space for Māori and Pacific peoples. They worked tirelessly to provide mobile vaccination events in the community, including schools, sports clubs, community spaces, and with organisations and providers that work with Māori and some of our vulnerable or high risk populations. Te Puawaitanga ki Ōtautahi Trust worked alongside other Māori and Pacific providers to strengthen their response collectively. Key features of Te Puawaitanga’s vaccination events included kai, music, games and lots of kōrero and laughter. As Covid began to take hold in our community, the vaccination team kicked into another gear and provided on the ground support with home visits and delivery of kai to whānau who were isolating. Te Puawaitanga ki Ōtautahi provided clinically safe and culturally safe care to our community at a time of need. We are in awe of your hard work and dedication to our community and feel privileged to have been a partner throughout the COVID response. We look forward to a continued partnership with you.
